The persistent trough pattern across northwest Russia suppressing previously established drought in northwest to central Russia maintains its dominance on the climate pattern. Through the next 2-3 weeks a showery and cool regime persists in west-central/central Russia. The latest long-range models indicate not much change for week 4 ahead. Meanwhile Ukraine is warmer and drier than normal well into June with borderline hot weather expected after mid-June. The Black Sea region is mixed trending from dry and warm western region to temperate and generally showery between the Black and Caspian Sea. The showery pattern eases with warmer temperatures across Georgia and northward in the week 4 forecast.
