After an extended period of dry and frequently warm-to-hot weather contributing to the dryness and fires across Portugal this past weekend relief is on the way. The hot weather pattern shifts to Southeast Europe next week with dryness spreading farther east well into Russia. During early July hot and dry weather attacks southwest Russia, Ukraine and Southeast Europe. During that transition cooler and wetter weather is likely for Western Europe. Cooler and wetter weather emerges Central Europe as mid-July approaches.
