Pictured: The Climate Impact Company medium/extended-range precipitation anomaly forecasts are indicated.
Pattern change ahead as previously hot and dry Northwest States flip cold and wet including first snow in the northern Rockies while anomalous warmth builds Central and East. This prevailing pattern for the last third of September into October raises the risk of wet weather persisting in-between the two thermal regimes. The Northwest rains eventually spread east and affect the northern Great Plains eventually spreading south to the Midwest and southern Plains later in the month.
