Pictured: Climate Impact Company week 2-4 precipitation outlook for the U.S.
The late September and early October precipitation pattern across the U.S. continues to trend wetter. The catalyst is an eastward shift of the strong upper trough in the western states this week. The progressive trough brings excessive rain to the western Plains next week followed by a broad wet pattern extending from the Great Plains to the Northeast in early October. Gradually, the warm pattern Central and East (also) fades.
