An impressive stretch of unusually warm weather is ahead for the Midwest. Temperatures reach or surpass 90 central/northeast Plains through the weekend. Meanwhile the cool trough in the West is slowly shifting east and should ignite excessive rainfall along a cold front in the west/north Great Plains this weekend and early next week. The heavy rain arc in the Great Plains gradually fades in the 11-15 day period.
