The outlook for the onset of the JUN/JUL/AUG season features drought risk in western and southeast Europe. Dryness is developing in Western Russia while Ukraine soils are wetter than normal. In Asia there is no drought risk other than India for the end of quarter 2 of 2017. Australia trends into drought the next couple months. In South America, Brazil trends drier while Argentina is wetter. No (crop area) drought to start summer in the U.S. or Canada.
Into the second half of the year the drought risk is notable in Europe, and Western Russia to Ukraine. Drought is also present in India and Australia. Southeast Asia and Indonesia are trending drier but quite drought yet through quarter 3 of 2017. Brazil drought continues while Argentina remains wet. Late summer/early autumn drought is unlikely in the Great Plains although the East-Central U.S. is trending drier.
