Snow comments: Over the weekend snow cover expanded south from Canada across the northeast sector of the U.S. including parts of the Interior Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. The 15-day ECM ensemble snowfall forecast indicates additional heavy snowfall in the Great Lakes region into New England and across Ontario/Quebec. The snowfall forecast extends southward into the East at times. The widening/deepening snow cover will cause the local climate to stay colder than normal and resist much warming from the west.
