Support for heavy rain fading: The MJO is in the East Pacific and quite strong lending support for short-term heavy precipitation events. However, the MJO is forecast to weaken during the medium-range particularly the 11-15 day period. In the 11-15 day period significant precipitation disappears from the U.S. forecast. Support for heavy precipitation in the 16-20 day period is also below normal due to a weak MJO.
