Comment: Forecast models are confident in the warm East projection while the West is marginally cold. Less confident is the precipitation scheme which varies widely amongst ensembles. However, the national forecast features above normal precipitation which is a rarity so far in winter 2017-18. The largest change in the forecast is the snowier Northwest scenario.
Comment: Turning colder into the Great Plains while the storm track stretches from Texas to the East Coast. Significant snows are possible.
Comment: A cold outbreak is forecast for the Central U.S. and possibly New England for mid-February.
