Indicated is a flip in the wet weather pattern into the Northwest U.S. late this week including several in. of rain across Montana and persistence of cold fronts delivering the rainfall through the medium-range casing the Great Plains to initially turn warmer then eventually wetter. Excessive warmth in the Great Plains is likely later this week as temperatures warm to 20-25F above normal in Nebraska/Kansas. Rainfall will follow diminishing the late season anomalous warmth.
