A strong cold front emerges Northwest U.S. and pushes into the Great Plains next week with a chilly air mass affecting the Interior Northwest and the Rockies. Ahead of that front the Great Plains tends to be somewhat warmer than normal. Next week may also present a tropical cyclone into the East Coast (Jose). Dry weather affects most of the U.S. which is welcome. In the week 3 and 4 ahead forecast the pattern lingers warm in the Great Plains the last week of September reversing cooler/wetter in early October.
