Wet weather in the Northwest U.S. shifts east to the Great Plains in the 6-10 day outlook. Excessive rain is possible mainly in the western Plains. A dividing line between a robust cool pattern in the West and near record warmth Central into the East is the catalyst for the wet weather. The wet pattern eases days 11-15 as thermal contrast across the U.S. fades. However, more wet weather in the Great Plains is likely in early October.
