A cold air mass gathers across Argentina this weekend and surges northward into Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina Sunday night and Monday. The air mass moderates once reaching southwest and south Brazil. Temperature departures from normal are near 25F during Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon from eastern Bolivia across Paraguay. The cold outbreak does not appear to reach the coffee areas of southeast Brazil. The north-surging cold front produces limited precipitation and most of Argentina and Brazil are exceptionally dry next week. The cold air mass moderates late next week. The following week brings a major warm-up across northeast Argentina to southeast Brazil.
The month of June produced an interesting rainfall pattern as central Brazil and northeast Argentina were exceptionally dry while historic heavy rainfall affected Chile and Peru.
