The Climate Impact Company month 1-3 outlook is updated. The forecast is based on a SSTA analog considering anomalous warmth southwest of California, a warm North Atlantic and a La Nina episode. The outlook is adjusted warmer in the Southwest during January while colder than normal temperatures remain in the northern U.S. outlook. During February the outlook is less cold North but cooler in the Southeast while the warm anomaly is adjusted to the Southwest U.S. Finally, the March outlook is cool in the Northwest and warm in Texas.
Corn planting progress surged this week, but harvest still looks to be delayed till mid-summer.
